Material Safety Data Sheets

This consists of 16 main headings and 48 sub-headings describing the negative effects of chemicals and mixtures on human health and on the environment, and also contains information on their physiochemical risks, and the measures to be taken.

“Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)” is the English language equivalent of the Turkish expression “Güvenlik Bilgi Formu (GBF).”

The sheets aim to provide a control mechanism against the effects of substances and mixtures harmful to human health and to the environment, and to prevent occupational diseases and work accidents. The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) of the chemicals used in the laboratory must be supplied at the purchase phase, and the MSDS must be in the language of the country that made the purchase.

The MSDS forms of newly acquired chemicals should be forwarded to OHS unit.
