İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Ergonomi Çalışmaları

Meslek hastalıklarını önlemeye yönelik olarak gerçekleştirilen Ergonomi Çalışmaları kapsamında, tüm çalışanlara "ergonomik sandalye" ve "bilek destekli mouse pad" dağıtıldı. 

Deprem Farkındalığı Haftası 

10-14 Kasım 2014 tarihleri arasında RFK kampüste deprem farkındalık haftası düzenlendi. Düzce depreminin de hatırlandığı bu haftada düzenlenen etkinlikler çerçevesinde deprem kartları, deprem düdüğü ve feneri dağıtıldı. 

Sağlık ve Güvenlik El Kitabı

İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği uygulamalarının detaylı şekilde anlatıldığı el kitabı yayınlanmıştır.

İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Bülteni

İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Bülten'i 3 ayda 1 yayınlanmaktadır.

Doktora ve Yüksek Lisans Öğrencileri Laboratuvar Güvenliği Eğitimleri 

Laboratuvarda çalışan Doktora ve Yüksek lisans öğrencileri için çalışmaya başlamadan önce “Laboratuvar Güvenliği Eğitimi” düzenlenmektedir.

İlkyardımcı Eğitimleri

Koç Üniversitesi’nde İlkyardım Eğitim Merkezi aracılıyla İlkyardımcı Eğitimleri düzenlenmekte olup, Sağlık Bakanlığı sınavlarına girerek ilkyardımcı personeller belirlenmektedir.

 

 

 

 

Terms

Workplace: Places, where pecuniary and nonpecuniary elements are combined with employees for producing goods or services, and which have been set up under a single management (associated places) and correlate with goods and services produced by the employer at the workplace in terms of their characteristics, as well as places within employer’s organization including resting, breastfeeding, eating, sleeping, washing/showering, examination, nursing, physical and occupational training areas, courtyards, enclosures and similar other attached facilities and vehicles. 

Occupational Health and Safety Committee: A committee set up in a workplace with more than 50 employees for the purpose of assessing Occupational Health and Safety hazards and measures, determining necessary measures and precautions as well as providing guidance to employees. Members of such committee are appointed among employees, and duties, authorities and responsibilities of the committee are set forth in the Regulation on Occupational Health and Safety Committees published in the Official Gazette dated 18 January 2013 and numbered 28532.

 

Employer Representative: Person(s) who undertake management of work on behalf of the employer. 

Workplace Doctor: Doctor who has been authorized and granted workplace doctor certificate by the Ministry to provide medical services in Occupational Health and Safety.

Occupational Safety Specialist: Individual who has been authorized and granted occupational safety certificate to undertake services in Occupational Health and Safety. 

Occupational Health and Safety Employee Representative: Employee who has been authorized to participate in Occupational and Safety operations at the workplace as well as to request institution of measures, submit proposals and represent employees in similar matters. 

Emergency Response Team: The team appointed among university staff, which has the task of containing emergency situations until external help arrives.

Risk Assessment Support Team: The team consisting of individuals, whose work involves high-risk factors in terms of occupational health and safety, who are inherently well acquainted with their domain of work and appointed with approval of unit directors.

Work Accident: Incident, which occur at the workplace or in connection with activities for undertaking the work, resulting in death, injury or material damage.

Occupational Illness/Disease: Illness/disease arising from exposure to occupational risks.

Prevention: All measures and precautions planned and taken in connection with each stages of work being undertaken at the workplace for eliminating or minimizing risks associated with Occupational Health and Safety. 

Personal Protection Equipment/Gear: Devices, tools and equipment which individuals are required to wear or carry for protection against single or multiple health and safety hazards. 

Hazard Class: The hazard group within which the workplace is categorized as either sub-hazardous, hazardous or highly hazardous in terms of occupational health and safety based on the nature of work undertaken, materials used or released/generated during each stage of work, work equipment, work methods and formations, work environment and conditions as well as other relevant factors.

Risk Assessment: Studies undertaken for determining internal or external hazards affecting the workplace, analyzing and categorizing of risks associated with such hazards as well as factors that cause such hazards to transform into risks, and regulating control measures.

Hazard: Internal or external potential of harm or damage capable of affecting employees or the workplace.

Risk: Probability of loss, injury or other harmful consequences arising from a hazard.
